Scope and Contents
This fifty-four box collection contains the professional papers of Wayne D. Criddle spanning the period from 1910 to 1993. These papers consist of Criddle's correspondence, engineering files, and publications. The materials in this collection document Criddle's work as Utah State engineer, his involvement in various engineering projects in the western United States (particularly in Colorado and New Mexico), and in numerous international projects (including Israel, Ecuador, and Kenya). The organization of this material is based on Criddle's personal filing system. The materials in this collection have been divided into the following categories:
- Boxes 1-24: General Working Files.
- Boxes 25-30: Consumptive Use of Water by Crops.
- Boxes 31-33: Consumptive Use of Water in the United States and in Foreign Countries.
- Boxes 34-35: Engineering Files.
- Boxes 36-39: CF&I Steel Corporation files and Colorado vs. New Mexico.
- Boxes 40-42: International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) Projects.
- Boxes 43-47: Truckee Carson River Basin Project (see also Boxes 1-24).
- Box 48: Publications by Criddle.
- Boxes 49-54: Jordan River Valley Project, Israel.
Photographs originally contained in this collection were separated and transferred to USU Special Collections and Archives' Photograph Division. Researchers interested in viewing these photographs should contact the photograph curator.
