 File — Box: 1, Folder: 3

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This collection is composed of an eclectic mix of publications pertaining to the Second World War. The material comes from a wide variety of countries (such as the U.S., Britain, and Greece) and covers a wide variety of topics, ranging from home front activities in support of the war, to military training manuals, to the colonial history of Africa. While a substantial portion of the collection consists of government (and quasi-government) publications, it also contains material from civic organizations, commercial publishers, the news media, and political groups. Perhaps the most significant portion of the collection from a research perspective are the pre-WW II newsletters from the German Library Association, a pro-German, American-based lobby (Box 6 Fd 16). The most unique item in the collection, however, is an anti-malaria booklet illustrated by Dr. Seuss (Box 4 Fd. 7).
