Portraits, undated
Scope and Contents
The album is comprised of 249 images, mostly snapshots, taken and/or collected by Newell James Crookston between roughly 1910 and 1917. Many of these photos are from an Eastern States mission (1914-1915) for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and consist of New York City views, and of sites relevant to early Mormon Church history. Other images are of Washington D.C., Logan Canyon, agriculture on the Crookston farm, and Crookston family members. Identification of the photographs was either determined from internal evidence or supplied by Mrs. Wennegren. The album was disassembled to prevent further damage from occurring due to loose prints and surface rubbing caused by traces of glue. Each photograph was numbered in pencil above the upper right hand corner.
