Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This collection contains photographs that were taken by Clarence James (C.J.) Hansen during his service as a Lieutenant in the United States Army during WWI. This collection consists of an album with photographs taken in 1918 of Utah Agricultural College (now Utah State University), WWI training at Camp Stanley, Texas and the Saumur Artillery School, France, and the Gas School at Chaumont, France. Included in the album are photographs of military life, weapons, and soldiers. This collection also contains a folder with three photographs of the 3rd Battery in Leon Springs Training Camp taken February 2, 1918 labeled with the last names of the members of the 3rd Battery. Two rolled photographs that are too tight to be unrolled without damage (which appear to be of WWI aerial training) have been removed for conservation treatment.
