Scope and Contents
The College of Natural Resources photograph collection consists of color photos, black and white photos, negatives, VHS films, CD-Roms, a 16 mm motion picture film, and one 8 mm motion picture film. Box 1 contains images that document surveys completed by C. J. Olsen, an Assistant Regional Forester for the US Forest Service on aspen reproduction, soil and vegetation conditions, flood surveillance and control projects, and recreational structure standards mostly in Utah, but also Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada in the 1930s. Additional photographs include: CCC camp sites and projects; the production of the 1937 Claudette Colbert Company film, "I Met Him in Paris"; images and correspondence between Dr. Thadis W. Box and W. C. Glazener, the Assistant Director of the Rob and Bessie Welder Wildlife Foundation established in Sinton, Texas in 1954; photographs by Bill Shipler and the US Forest Service; and a documentary report on the changing "conditions and trends" of National Forests in response to human activity.
The VHS films document various issues of our National Forests and their ecosystems. The motion picture films are official productions entitled "Introduction to the National Forests in the US" and "Forest School"
The collection contains photographs and negatives of the USU College of Natural Resources faculty and students, as well as various events held by the college from 1990-2004.
