Scope and Contents
Ernest C. Jeppsen was well travelled and documented many of his trips through photographs and slides. This collection is divided into sections according to the locations and years that the photographs were taken. The first section contains photographs from his early life and career as well as portraits from all periods of his career.
The next section focuses on his work in Panama, where he travelled between the years of 1947 and 1952 as a member of the Institute of Inter-American Affairs in order to develop a vocational college there. These photographs contain images of the school and classes in session, however there are also numerous images of events and conferences relating to the Institute of Inter-American Affairs and other related organizations. Finally, there are also many photos of the LDS Branch in Panama, with which Jeppsen was affiliated.
The following division documents Jeppsen’s work in the Philippines, work with the Near East and African Development Service, his job at the Church College of Hawaii, as well as other travels that he undertook during the 1950s through the 1970s.
Next are photographs from Jeppsen’s work at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. These include images of campus and classrooms at BYU as well as group photos of Jeppsen and members of the Technical College Faculty.
The final section contains photographs and slides from unknown places and sources. This section also includes oversized items.
