Scope and Contents

The grave marker of Amanda Lamin near the Platte River. Marker reads, "Amanda, consort of M. J. Lamin of Devonshire, Eng., born Feb 22, 1822, died June 23, 1850 of cholera. Husband is rumored to have walked 200 miles alone to Ft. Kearney to aquire a stone for the marker.
