Scope and Contents
Utah and Northern locomotive, 265 class. Heaviest freight locomotives on Utah and Northern were 265 class. Built by Alco in March 1886 weighing 59 tons with coal and water, with a pulling power of 8 tons. Could pull 1600 tons at 20 mph. Had 37" driving wheels. Next year the railroad changed to standard gauge. Clifford Peake Collection, Thornton Waite.
