Scope and Contents

Here, a four-wheel drive road built by Phillips Petroleum in the late 1920s provides limited vehicular access to the rock art in Horseshoe Canyon. In order to protect its existing rock art, Horseshoe Canyon was incorporated into Canyonlands National Park.
