Scope and Contents
Maze Harvest Scene. Representing the famed harvest scene of Canyonlands National Park, this pictograph shows a bird flying toward the outstretched hand which holds a bunch of rice grass. Rabbits run down his arm while a coyote or fox waits by his shoulder. Also pictured are stooped harvesters gathering wild plants with a seed beater and sickle. Most probably painted by the Desert Archaic Culture. This art often coincided with trail systems that led to junctions, water points and campsites.
