The Thomas Yun Kim Research Lab Collection documents Dr. Kim’s career as a student, professor, and researcher from approximately 1950 to 2002. As a Korean immigrant, Yun Kim’s collection accurately reflects his endeavors to create a robust Asian Studies program at Utah State University, as well as maintain academic ties with various universities, and eventually establish the Yun Kim Population Research Laboratory at Utah State University. Multiple publications, letters of correspondence, and program proposals are sourced from foreign locations such as Bangladesh, Korea, Thailand, and China. Integrated within this collection are floppy discs, cassette recordings, and lecture slides relating to Yun Kim’s predominant area of study: Sociology and Demography.
