This collection contains the personal papers of poet and writer James C. Miller. The collection includes correspondence, journals, drafts, and collected articles. Significant correspondents include David L. Wright and Clyde Gillette. Also included are drafts of materials written by and about David L. Wright.

Biographical Note
James C. Miller was born 12 October 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Lacey and Marilyn Denham Miller. Miller received his education in Salt Lake, Brigham City, Logan Schools, and graduated from Utah State University. Miller was an accomplished poet and writer. He began publishing his writings in the Scribble while he attended Utah State. His books East Was Always Uphill and >In the Haze Was a Huntress showcase some of his most notable work. Miller’s works also appeared in the journal Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought. Miller worked as a technical writer for Thiokol Corporation for ten years. He also served in the Korean War. Miller died 11 March 1971 in Logan, Utah.
