Architectural Design West PC papers
Scope and Contents
This collection contains the architectural drawings and working files of Architectural Design West PC spanning the period of 1892 to 2005. This collection contains over a thousand project drawings and over 150 boxes of the corporation's working files. Although most of these architectural drawings deal with projects in Utah and Southern Idaho, a number of them deal with work done in the western United States (particularly California)
The drawings in this collection are arranged into series that reflect the original filing system used by Architectural Design West PC. This arrangement includes drawings labeled with numbers between the 1000-5000 and 7000-9000 range and then drawings have been listed alphabetically within their respective number range. The firm's working files are organized by the type of project concerned, such as churches, commercial, schools, public buildings, universities, etc, and are cross-reference to the relevant project drawings. These files contain a variety of documents ranging from construction permits, to sub-contractor agreements, to paint and carpet samples.

Historical Note
Architectural Design West PC was founded in 1892 in Logan, Utah by European trained architect Karl C. Schaub. Schaub's original practice became Monson & Schaub (Joseph Monson), then Schaub, Haycock, & Associates (G. Eugene Haycock), and finally Architectural Design West PC, which at different times has elsewhere included offices in Utah, Idaho and California
Over the course of the twentieth-century Architectural Design West PC engaged in work on many major landmarks in northern Utah and southern Idaho. The firm designed and remodeled universities, churches, tabernacles, public buildings, and many upscale residential homes. Some of these construction projects were funded by the New Deal during the Great Depression
The firm currently remains active in Logan.
