Scope and Contents
This collection consists of 187 prints taken by the Utah Cooperative Extension Division from the 1920s to the 1940s. They show beautification projects in Smithfield and Wellsville (including school and church grounds), food preparation, music instruction, cleaning techniques, agricultural scenes, 4-H judging, reservoirs, trees, livestock, and sewing. Some of the photos were taken on campus, but most were either taken in Cache Valley or the Brigham City/Ogden area.

Biographical Note
These photographs were removed from the William Peterson material that is part of the Utah State University Archives (Utah Agricultural Experiment Station. Directors Files 18:17). Peterson (1874-1957) graduated from the Agricultural College of Utah (now Utah State University) in 1899. He was an instructor and professor at USU from 1899 until 1946: He was also the director of the Utah Extension Division from 1924 until 1946: He was a nationally recognized expert on Western land and water issues.
