Historical Note

In April 1923 an article appeared in Logan, Utah's The Journal which solicited the idea of organizing a business club for women in Logan. In May of that year various Logan residents attended a meeting at Hotel Eccles. One month later the Business and Professional Women's Club, Logan Chapter was officially formed. The mission of the club was to "promote the interests of business and professional women, to secure combined action by them, and further comradeship among its members." (Constitution & By-laws, 1932)

The club hosted numerous events, including an annual convention, a canyon party, and an annual dinner at Hotel Eccles. The club organized round table discussions and invited guess speakers to debate ways to improve the interests of local women. The club also sponsored local writing contents and other such endeavors for local high school and college women, which offered an outlet for expression and funding for participants.

Over the years the club has continued to function and expand its mission. The organization is in operation today.
