Sorosis Society photograph collection
Scope and Contents
The Sorosis Society photograph collection consists of 32 black and white photographs documenting this USU sorority from the 1890s to the 1930s. The images include formal portraits, informal group shots, views of the interior and exterior of the sorority house, and snapshots of sorority activities.
The prints are all silver gelatin developing-out papers with the exception of 1:07:01, which is a collodion or gelatin printing-out paper. They range in size from the smallest snapshot (5cm.x7cm.) to oversize prints (30cm.x35cm.). Some of the images were apparently removed from a scrapbook.

Biographical Note
Sorosis is the oldest continuing sorority on the Utah State University campus founded in 1899. The sorority later became nationally affiliated as Alpha Chi Omega in 1944. This collection was donated to Special Collections & Archives by Mrs. (Conrad) Ruth Layton Harrison.
