Biographical Note

The Logan LDS Temple was constructed between 1877 and 1884 (dedicated on May 17, 1884). In October 1976 the temple closed and renovation began. The building’s interior, including artwork was entirely removed. The construction finished in early 1978 and it was rededicated on March 13, 1979.

The historic Capitol Theatre was built in downtown Salt Lake City during 1913. Originally operated as a vaudeville house named Orpheum Theater, this was soon renamed Capitol Theater during 1927, and is currently known as the JQ Lawson Capitol Theater. Damaged by a fire during 1949, there was not a major renovation until finally during 1975. Craig Law is a retired USU Art Professor who was hired in the late 1970s to take photographs of the interior of the Logan LDS Temple before it's complete renovation. In this instance Professor Law was a work-for-hire and he feels that the LDS Church owns the copyright. Photographs of the pre-renovation Capitol Theater were likely taken around 1974-1975.
