Scope and Contents

Consists of 94 black and white photographs and two negatives, taken from 1910 to 1949 with the majority from the 1920s, by the US Forest Service of Region 4. Included are images of recreation, landscape scenes, geological formations, Forest Service personnel, structures, towns, equipment, American Indians, and Forest Service projects. Most of the photographs were taken in the Cache, Wasatch, Sawtooth, and Fish Lake National Forests.

Researcher Note

Many photographs were originally glued to envelopes. The excess was cut away from the photo for preservation. Photocopies are included of the original envelopes. The information in quotes is taken directly from the original caption. The original National Forest names are used in this register, but keep in mind that these names are probably different today.
