Cache Chamber of Commerce photographs and films.
Scope and Contents
The materials in this collection have been divided into three boxes: Popular Parades and Miscellaneous Activites of the Chamber, Cache Chamber of Commerce’s Presidents, and Cache Chamber of Commerce's Films. The Cache Chamber Collection contains a variety of materials, primarily from the 1950s, aimed at promoting Cache Valley to tourists and businesses. It features roughly 160 unique photographs of parades organized in the region in 1939 and 1940, and historic films designed to sponsor tourism to the valley. The parade photographs provide insights into the region’s economy and fashion prior to World War II. The films display how the valley was marketed to businesses and tourists during the 1950s and they also document the Chamber of Commerce's concern with Communism at the onset of the Cold War. The collection also features various portraits of Chamber of Commerce’s presidents from 1943 to 2000.
