E. Roy France photograph collection
Abstract
25 color slides taken by France in the summer of 1953 of a crash site. The C-46 military transport plane crashed in Franklin County, north of Beaver Mountain, on January 7, 1953. Images include broken trees, overviews of the site, engines, part of the tail with France, and pieces of the plane. A women and another man appear in the images.

Historical Note
On January 7, 1953 a C-46 transport plane with 37 Korean War veterans and a crew of three crashed in the mountains East of Logan. The plane crashed in Pat Hollow in Franklin County, north of Beaver Mountain. On January 13th the plane was discovered. The bodies were removed by the military with help from local men such as Mr. France.
