Scope and Contents
The Alfred Gordon Erickson photograph collection consists of 255 black and white prints and 24 Utah postcards. The prints were taken by Alfred Gordon Erickson between 1940 and 1950 and consist of images of Erickson with the Army in California and during his time at Utah State University. Of particular interest are several views of the Jack London ranch and of his widow Charmian London.

Biographical Note
Alfred Gordon Erickson was born to Alfred Allen and Maggie Balls Erickson on September 9, 1918, in Smithfield, UT. His paternal grandfather, Alfred Erickson, was a Swedish immigrant who settled in Cache Valley. He enlisted in the Army Air Force on September 25, 1940, and served in the European Theater during World War II. He attended Utah State Agricultural College from 1946 to 1949 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Erickson was active in the Intercollegiate Knights, Lambda Delta Sigma, and Kappa Sigma Kappa during his time at USU. He married Berenice Seamons in the Logan Utah Temple on June 8, 1948, and they had five children: Marie, Ray Gordon, Ralph Lynn, Dale Bruce and Edwin Leon. He taught agriculture at high schools in Wyoming, Idaho and Utah, and died in Logan on October 23, 1988.
