Scope and Contents
The majority of the collection is made up of photos of dairy cows and herds, pastures, barn and fence building from the Extension Dairy Farm taken between 1932 and 1959. Some photographs show 4-H cows and competitions, including lineups, judging ceremonies, individual animals, and general establishing shots.

Biographical / Historical
Established as part of the Utah State Agricultural College, the USU Extension Dairy Farm played a significant role in the study of dairy production, herd management, and agricultural innovation in Cache Valley. Operated under the university’s Extension Service, the farm provided hands-on training for students, conducted research to improve dairy farming techniques, and supported local farmers with best practices in dairy science. The farm continues to operate, adapting to changes in the dairy industry and agricultural education.
