Hap Klopp is the founder of The North Face, a leading outdoor apparel and equipment company. He founded the company in 1966, with the goal of creating high-performance gear for climbers, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Klopp, an avid outdoorsman, opened the first store in San Francisco, initially focusing on selling specialized gear for mountaineering. Under his leadership, The North Face quickly grew and gained recognition for its innovative products, including durable jackets, tents, and backpacks.

In 1978, Klopp sold The North Face to a larger corporation but continued to remain involved in its development. After leaving the company, he went on to pursue other ventures, including consulting and investment, while maintaining his passion for the outdoors.
