Biographical Note
Born in Canada in 1929, Glen E. Stringham grew up on an irrigated farm in Alberta. He received his undergraduate degree in agricultural engineering from USU in 1955, and his Ph.D. in civil engineering from Colorado State University in 1966. He joined the USU engineering faculty as an associate professor and affiliate at the Utah Water Research Laboratory in 1965. Stringham was engaged in both teaching and research, as well as with international programs that promoted irrigation efficiencies in Latin American, the Middle East and Africa.
Stringham has been civically active, serving on the planning and zoning board in his hometown of Millville, Utah, and also being elected as the community’s mayor. Glen Stringham retired as professor emeritus in 1988, and still makes his home in Millville.
