Biographical / Historical
When the College of Business and Social Sciences, a predecessor to the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, was created in 1957, the Department of Management Information Systems was originally a program within the Department of Business Administration. By 1962, it had become its own department, called Business Education and Office Administration. Between 1980 and the 2000s, the department underwent several name changes, including Administrative Systems and Business Education, Business Information Systems and Education, and Management Information Systems. The department was likely absorbed into the new Jon M. Huntsman School of Business department of Data Analytics and Information Systems.
