Biographical Note

Ann Godfrey Hansen was born in Clarkston, Utah, on September 13, 1900, to Thomas H. Godfrey, Jr. and Ellen Barson Godfrey. After graduating from Brigham Young College in 1919, Ann married Joseph Heber Hansen in 1921. She taught school in Logan, Utah, and the West Side School District in Dayton, Idaho, before continuing her education by earning a B.A. in 1958 and an M.S. in 1961. A prolific writer, Ann wrote extensively about her family history and that of Clarkston, culminating with the book, Wood Stoves and Woolen Stockings, published in 1991. Ann passed away later that year.
