Scope and Contents
This collection contains Nielsen’s research papers on local history, including Cache Valley Dairy Association Minutes for 1947. It also contains copies of Logan City Records from the 1870s, modern Logan City Council meeting documents and notes, historic photographs of persons and places in Utah, and research on local history. Biographical Note
Fred Noble Nielsen was born on August 11, 1908 in Logan, Utah to James Christian and Emma Nielsen. He married Ruth Quayle on February 9, 1934 in Preston, Idaho. Noble worked as a field man for the Carnation Milk Co. in Wellsville, Utah for 18 years and later at the Cache Valley Dairy for 14 years. Noble became interested in Logan history and wrote about the Bishops of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan 1st Ward. As part of his historical research, he created a catalog of all the businesses that had existed in Logan. He died on July 20, 1993.
