This collection contains materials pertaining to U.S. public folklore programs within their respective states, Washington DC and Puerto Rico. The collection materials include pamphlets, brochures, programs, newsletters, correspondence, etc.

The Ranch Family Documentation Project: Oral Histories collection consists of 61 interviews with 78 ranchers from four Intermountain West counties: Elko County, Nevada; Box Elder County, Utah; Cache County, Utah; and Rich County, Utah. The interviews were conducted summer 2009-spring 2012.

This photograph collection consists of digital copies of images collected through the course of the Ranch Family Documentation Project from 2009 to 2011. The images were either scanned from originals or loaned by the ranch families interviewed or taken with a digital camera. Paper copies and a CD are located in a box.

Abstract Images of Western range land taken by Arthur Smith and R.J. Becraft that were used to document the effects of grazing on Western land. These images were taken between 1917 and 1975 and show vegetation, cattle, wildlife, and streams and lakes in Oregon, Nebraska, California, Arizona, New Mexico, North Dakota, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, and especially from Utah. The Orson Smith papers contain correspondence and organization papers relating to Orson' Smith's experience with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It also contains business and real estate documents for Orson.

This collection contains ten journals that record the experiences of Thurlow Smith and Mary LaRene Butler Smith of Oakley, Idaho. These journals, which date from 1955 to 1958 and 1983 to 1996, document the Smiths’ daily lives and their LDS mission to Charleston, West Virginia.

The Smithfield Oral History Project contains 37 interviews with residents of Smithfield, Utah. The majority of interviews were conducted by Lawrence Cantwell. William "Robert" Thornley had the items digitized, transcribed, and printed by the Clark and Gladys Thornley Foundation.
