Abstract

The Ariel Benson photograph collection consists of USU images (fraternities and sororities, ROTC, sports, the T.U.B., student clubs and groups), Richmond, Utah images including businesses, Boy Scouts, Black and White Days, the 1962 earthquake, and images from Sky View/North Cache High School including sports, class reunions, musicals, glee club, cheerleaders, band, and choir. Also included are numerous individual studio portraits and wedding images from Benson's private business.

Twenty-nine black & white copy prints made from the original images owned by LuAnn Ferrin. The photographs show her grandparents, Elmer Baugh Lear and Luella Reddish Lear, their families, scenes in Lund, Burley, Pocatello, and Lava Hot Springs in Idaho, and Logan, Moroni, and Mendon in Utah. The collection dates from 1860 to 1942.

The Franklin D. Thatcher photograph collection consists of 92 images of Cache Valley, Logan, River Heights, Utah State University, and Ogden taken by Franklin D. Thatcher (1878-1965). The individuals in the pictures include Thatcher's family such as his wife Hannah,and his sons Theodore (Ted), Lynn, and David Thatcher.
