Abstract

This collection consists of 89 photograph negatives from Lewis Franklin Biggs, taken during a survey conducted by the United States Geological Survey between 1904-1912 in the states of California, Nevada, Utah, and Washington D.C.

Abstract Consists of a travelogue and 49 black & white silver gelatin photographs that document Vaudeville performer Ernest Dupille's travels across the United States, focusing mainly on the western states, in 1914. Dupille's handwritten observations are contained in a notebook entitled "Travels of a troubador" and include facts and impressions of the places and people he encountered, but he does not include much information on his performances.
