Compton Photograph Studio Archive collection

Abstract The Compton Studio Archive is comprised of two major components: Glass plate negatives containing views and scenes (e.g., anything besides portraiture) were printed on modern, resin-coated paper and dry-mounted to museum board for storage in filing cabinets. These prints are numbered beginning with a "C" (e.g., "C-0250"), and total approximately 910 items. The negatives bear the same number as the print and are stored in archival document Boxes. Abstract

The Compton Print collection consists of mounted Compton photographs from Box Elder County including houses, public building, Main Street of Brigham City, Brigham City Businesses, individual and family portraits, landscape views, dams, and mining locations and materials. Many of the images are from the "C-boards" in the Compton Studio collection P0313.

Intermountain Indian School photograph collection

Abstract

Contains publicity photographs taken of Navajo students who attended the Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City, Utah. The photos were probably taken in the late 1950s or early 1960s and document various school activities including vocational training, classroom scenes, social activities, student artwork, music, theatre, and athletics.
