Abstract

This collection contains 39 black and white photos taken on and around the campus of USU in Spring of 1942. Many show identifiable locations in Logan, mostly along 400 East between USU campus and Main Street. Others are of persons unidentified, mostly soldiers and their families. The photographer, probably Harry Simon, was in Logan as part of a training program for the Navy ROTC.

Single tintype portrait of Joseph Smith III, from shortly after Smith's accession to the presidency of the RLDS Church (now called The Community of Christ) in 1860. Due to the rarity of this portrait, eight copies with negatives (in color and black & white) have been created for viewing purposes.

Briant H. Stringham photograph collection

Approximately 202 photographs depicting both the public and private life of this Utah statesman. Pictures range from Briant's college education at BYU in Provo, Utah, to his sheep-ranching days in Vernal and the Uintah Mountains, to his public service as a politician for the state of Utah. Interspersed throughout the photos of business and public service are pictures of family and recreation. Also included is an image of Stringham with President Lyndon B. Johnson.
