Abstract

The F. Jay Haynes photograph collection consists of one album with 12 images of Yellowstone National Park probably taken in 1882. Views are of popular tourist attractions in Yellowstone including Golden Gate, Minerva Terrace, Mammoth Hot Springs, Pulpit Terrace, Old Faithful, Grotto Geyser Cone, among others. Abstract The Snyder Sisters Travel Album collection documents a 1941 trip made by sisters Emma A. Snyder (1871-1965) and Mae Snyder (1867-1950) to Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. The album consists of 60 hand colored images as well as postcards, commercial travel items, letters, and original narratives. Emma and Mae worked as school teachers in Baltimore, Maryland.
