Albert Augustine grew up in Iowa and traveled by wagon across the plains to California. This collection contains a journal from his journey across the plains in 1855 as well as land grant deeds belonging to himself and his family.

This collection contains twenty-nine items including thirteen letters, fourteen itemized bills, an account statement, and a page of blank checks from Judge William Alexander Carter of Fort Bridger, Wyoming.
