Consists of notebooks, documents and photographs collected by Loyd James of the Idaho 2nd Infantry "K" Company - punitive expedition to the US/Mexican border near Nogales, Arizona.

Provenance

Owned and donated by Ronald James (grandson of Loyd James). Loyd joined the Idaho reserves as a teenager. On the border he did not see fighting, but he became an expert on the Browning Machine Gun. In WWI he became a machine gun trainer and did not go to the front lines. Ron said that his grandfather was his hero. He talked very little during his life about these experiences.
