Biographical / Historical

Loyd James joined the Idaho reserves as a teenager. On the border he did not see fighting, but he became an expert on the Browning Machine Gun. In WWI he became a machine gun trainer and did not go to the front lines. He talked very little during his life about these experiences.

Abstract

Consists of notebooks, documents and photographs collected by Loyd James of the Idaho 2nd Infantry "K" Company - punitive expedition to the US/Mexican border near Nogales, Arizona.

Arrangement

This collection is arranged into three files: The first contains 5 postcards, the second has 20 pages from a photo album, and the third includes some relevant papers.
