Scope and Contents

Brief handwritten letter on Hotel Eccles stationary dated Oct. 10, 1927 to Mr. G.H. Beesemyer of Hollywood, Calif. signed "Guaranty Bldg." and referring to a unknown newspaper clipping and bid. The Eccles Hotel of Logan, Utah occupied the floors above the Thatcher Brothers Bank. These floors had been occupied by the Thatcher Opera House until the building was destroyed by fire in 1912. The new building (1915) housed the hotel until its closure in the early 1960s.

Samuel Preston wrote his sister May while she was in Chicago, Ill. at the World's Fair.

Typed resolution made June 4, 1922, expressing sympathy and respect to the family of elder Victor E. Madsen, on the occasion of his death. Elder Victor E. Madsen (1879-1922) married Sarah Cleofa Forsgren. He served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the first counselor in the Presidency of the Box Elder Stake, Brigham City, Utah.
