The materials in the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering collection include brochures, programs, newspapers, posters, and other materials distributed at the Cowboy Poetry Gathering (now the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering) in Elko, Nevada, hosted by the Western Folklife Center (1985 to present).

This collection includes oral histories, original interview cassette tapes, brief bios of the interviewees, transcriptions, news clippings, essays and photographs related to Marie Fuhriman Olsen's fieldwork and Cache Valley cities and residents (boxes 1-5). It also includes personal research and writings by Marie Fuhriman Olsen (boxes 6 and 7).

This is a collection of student papers from 1986 to 2000. The papers are compilations of folk stories collected by the students, with short biographies of the student and his or her source included in each paper.

Folklore material relating to the yearly Fife Folklore Conference, including correspondence, monetary budgets, notes, conference schedules, student requirements, student collections, brochures, posters, flyers, slides, photographs, audio tapes, video tapes, etc. (approx. 1963 to present)
