This collection contains the correspondence received by Horace G. Whitney, the former manager of the Salt Lake Opera Company, from costumers, theatres, actors, and music companies in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming.

Records of the Consolidated Theatre Company, Thatcher Music Company, as well as general business papers. Contains a good record of theatre performances and movies. Also a ledger of Luna Thatcher.

The Thatcher Opera House photograph collection consists of 187 photographs from the late 1880s to the early 1920s donated by William E. McMurdie. The Thatcher Opera House was located in the Thatcher Bank at the corner of Main and Center Streets. Most of the images are reprints of promotional portraits of actors or copied from newspaper advertisements. There are also a handful of original images.

This collection contains materials related to Patience Thatcher as well as her mother, Jean of Logan, Utah.
